A simple step process to keep projects and objectives on track.

1.

Briefing & Analysis

We start with you telling me what you were expecting to get, and what you feel you’re getting.  Then, I work closely with your project manager(s) and separately with your vendor(s) to analyze contracts, impressions, expectations, reports, timelines, and deliveries.

Mediation

I take that information and develop a report of findings, and use it to mediate between your vendors and organization as to what went wrong. Often, there are expectation misunderstandings, personality conflicts, over-promising, and misinterpretations. Rarely ill intent. Occasionally I will discover deception or unethical behaviour, at which point mediation is skipped and a consultation is begun.

Fresh Start

Time to start over, without blame nor emotion.  Sometimes everything is fine, and it’s just expectations that are off.  Sometimes the work isn’t good, and there’s confusing effort with results.  Sometimes it is time to move on from a vendor or project.  Regardless of what it may be, I work with you to gracefully and diplomatically communicate issues and begin the process of adjusting a contract and project, or severing ties and searching for a new vendor.

Action Plan Development

This is where we get back on track.  I will work with you, your vendor or team, on creating an honest and easy to grasp project plan, including how to speak one another’s language, at what frequency communication should happen, what milestones look like, and what the end of duration for a project is.

5.

Supervision

Oversight to your level of comfort.  In some situations, you may request I stay on and manage the project until you have a satisfactory result.  Other times you may want me to stay on to train a team member on how to manage the product on their own.  Sometimes my work is done once rebooting the project.

6.

Signoff

I’m here until I know I’ve accomplished what I am hired to do and that you feel comfortable taking the reigns. My exit includes all project documentation, including an action plan for projects that are underway, or projects that happen in perpetuity. Many projects will include a punch list for you and the vendor to work from to make sure that every contractual aspect is achieved, some including a calendar build out to make sure deadlines are held. I will follow up with a check in, usually 30 days from the Action Plan, to see how everything is going, and to make sure that nothing is slipping.
